Mike Price, 33, succumbed to severe injuries from an attack on his convoy earlier this week. Price worked for the Halo Group as a weapons instructor and a security specialist.

"At one point while he was in Iraq, his father offered him $100,000 to come back, and he didn't want to," said Price's lifelong friend Mark Peters. "He was where he wanted to be."

Price was a former Navy corpsman. He leaves behind an 11-year-old daughter.
